Welcome to Charleston

As a realtor, I am fascinated that people love Charleston so much.  It has been ranked the number one tourist city in the world…and has won top ranked city awards over and over. And Charlestonians seem to become more enamored the longer they stay…so here are a few reasons for this loyalty to Charleston and “the low country”.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME….  Our communities are balanced with medical and college students, singles, families and retirees for a vibrant community.

SEMI-TROPICAL WEATHER… with sunny days most of the time, warm summers and moderate winters.  Coastal Breezes prevail and the weather is awesome.  With warmer weather we have natural palmettos…and year round flowers.  Gardening is fun and it is so pretty here.  From our historic live oak trees laden with Spanish moss to magnolias, crepe myrtles, roses and more.

NATURAL BEAUTY…just going to work is a pleasure…beautiful views of the rivers and marshes abound.  We have lovely sunrises over the ocean and gorgeous sunsets over the rivers.  Our storms blow through quickly for gorgeous skies and it is sunny most of the time.  Coastal breezes abound.

RIVERS & CREEKS…We have seven rivers located in Charleston County, five of which branch from the harbor which flows into the Atlantic Ocean.  With so many waterways, we have few ‘no wake’ zones and the waterways are not crowded.  Boating, fishing, canoeing, surfing…and water sports are awesome here.  There are many marinas and boat clubs.  You will even find free boat ramps throughout Charleston.

BIRDING… is a real treasure here.  We are in migratory routes and we have a huge variety of birds and wildlife.  From our porch we see eagles, ospreys, hawks, kites, storks, geese, ducks, egrets, herons, pelicans, owls, woodpeckers, cardinals, red birds, blue birds, coo coos, chickadees, painted buntings, doves…and many, many more.

BEACHES…Beaches and islands abound.  Our coastal areas are great fun.  We have many public beaches and the beaches are not crowded.  There are even county parks on the beaches.  Gated Wild Dunes, lovely Isle of Palms, historic Sullivan’s Island, funky Folly Beach, old Edisto Beach, Seabrook and pricey Kiawah…so many to choose from!

SPORTS & GOLFING…Golfing is a year round sport here.  Dozens of great courses in Charleston and hundreds just an hour or two away (from Hilton Head to Myrtle Beach).  Other sports abound... college sports, pro baseball, hockey, soccer, tennis, biking and numerous races for runners on the beaches, over the bridges year round for all ages!

FABULOUS FESTIVALS…Southeastern Wildlife, Spoleto & Piccolo Spoleto, Antique Week and marvelous antique shops, Festivals of Homes & Gardens, Oyster Festivals, Boating Festivals, Blessings of the Fleet, Fishing Tournaments, Surfing, Sailing Races Horse Races and so many more!

GREAT HOMES…such a variety…historic homes, neighborhoods with amenities and great schools, retirement communities, beach homes, island homes and country homes.  Nearby horse farms and waterfront homes are available.  Condominiums and town homes abound.   Porches are used year round and the living is easy.

CHILDREN…have good schools and great adventures here.  Charleston is children friendly…and pet friendly too!  Old fashion values abound for a great family life.

GREAT FOOD…Charleston is one of the great foodie cities of the world.  Fine restaurants…dives, rooftop bars… good food can be found everywhere!  Fresh seafood is taken for granted.  Charleston offers southern food at it’s finest.

GREAT FUN…again something for everyone.  Volunteer opportunities abound.

MANY HOSPITALS…Extraordinary medical care is available in Charleston.  MUSC is a teaching hospital and world renown.  Multiple fine hospital systems exist throughout Charleston.  Retirement communities abound.

HISTORIC VENUES…History is an integral part of our city which was established in the late 1600’s.  Hundreds of 18 th century homes still proudly stand in Charleston.  We have a historic battery and waterfront park, multiple forts, awesome plantations, art galleries and museums.  It is an authentic way of life.

THE GRAND OLD LADY…Charleston is a gracious city and people are happy to be here.

Most drivers are courteous and the locals are friendly and helpful.  Once people move here, the kindness and gentility is catching.  We welcome you to our city.

" You can never beat the service an Owner delivers! AgentOwned Realty did an excellant job selling our home and finding us our new one! And we were not easy, we had some very special requirements and had to be within 20 miles of my office. I was so impressed with the ease of our move from start to finish   "

" Having all the services we neeed in one location was essential to us. We wanted to be able to find one agent to guide us through the entire process. AgentOwned's Agent/Owenrs are educated thoroughly in all the ancillary services that go hand in hand with real estate, as well as the area market. Finding one person we could trust made all the difference, Thank you!  "
